BIOLOGY
This is a college preparatory level biology class. Students use laboratory investigations to understand and reinforce the concepts of life science. The students also learn through note taking, demonstrations and cooperative learning exercises.
A double lab period is offered about once a week.This gives the students the opportunity to work on a project or do an experiment that takes longer then one period
The science of biology reaches from the global scale of the entire planet down to the microscopic world of cells and molecules.
The course will cover:
- cellular physiology
- biochemistry
- molecular genetics
- microbes
- plant physiology
- animal anatomy and physiology
- ecology
Students will be required to do several projects, research, and complete lab reports. Homework is given daily. We take a field trip to the Great Adventure Safari.
